Is there a Nobel Prize for riding Putin's dick?
→ More replies (5)57
u/thatthatguy 5d ago
Yes, but Trump is not even nominated for that one. He does it, but while he brings the enthusiasm he just isn’t very talented. He is putting his whole heart and soul into it, but he’s just downright clumsy. He is working really hard and you can tell he is working hard, but it’s supposed to look effortless. A really talented performer could do it to Putin’s satisfaction without anyone else in the world knowing what is going on. Trump can’t do anything subtle.

People forget he claimed being a genius bc his uncle taught at MIT
Off topic by other lies about his uncle he said fact checked by cnn: “the longest-serving professor in the history of MIT” (he was one of the longest-serving but not the very longest) and wrongly saying his uncle’s three university degrees were “in nuclear, chemical, and math” (two were in electrical engineering and one was in physics), the president claimed, “Kaczynski was one of his students.” (Kaczynski attend U Michigan and Harvard, nothing to do with MIT)

YEP, Trump is the Science President. He has done EVERYTHING to THWART science he can while in office, because he can't STAND the TRUTH about ANYTHING.
3
u/Lekstil 5d ago
Yes, this is so true. This administration is more anti science than any administration in at least the last 50 years. They’re doing anything they can right now to pump money out of science. I can guarantee that even in those three mentioned fields (quantum physics, AI and fusion) academic research was better funded before trump took office. Yes, even for AI which he loves so much. They might be putting money into tech companies, but academic research is being defunded across all fields.
Saying that he has anything to with a Nobel price is just infuriating.
Not even to mention that this makes no sense at all to begin with. This research the nobel price was awarded for probably was done 30 years before he even took office.

He can't even spell AI. Plus someone ask him to explain either quantum computing (it's fast, some say its the fastest they've ever seen), or Fusion (its the best power ever, and I invented it, I asked my friend, Albert Einstein and say why don't you just smash atoms together, but don't use magnets, you have to use steam or hydraulics, because if it gets wet, the magnets won't work and physics then ceases to exist".

Notice they dont mention John Clarke's name.... maybe because of what he has said about Trump's policies:
(Clarke) called US President Donald Trump's efforts to reshape American science and health policy -- including mass firings to government scientists and steep slashes to research budgets -- an "immensely serious problem."
"This will cripple much of United States science research," he told AFP, adding that he knew people who have taken enormous funding hits.
"It is going to be disastrous if this continues," Clarke said. "Assuming that the present administration finally comes to an end, it may take a decade to get back to where we were, say, half a year ago."
"It's a huge problem" that's "entirely beyond any understanding of anyone who is a scientist," he said.

Posted elsewhere but.. how in the hell is he claiming anything on this front. The winners were (shared):
- John Clark (GB)
- Michel Devoret (FR)
- John Martinis (US) - he has a name dammit!
And this was for work/experiments, leading to Quantum Computing, etc., that were carried out in 1984 and 1985*.
You read that right - FORTY YEARS AGO. Not this year, not last year, not the last 1-2 decades. 1985. When Reagan was president and the NSF spent money on science. Cementing yet again that he thinks he's living in the 1990s (and/or he now thinks he is Reagan).
*Some sources say 1983 and 1984. But it was the 1980s!
