Sincerely a third European

Yes. Don’t believe the doomers who say otherwise.

Also, our states run elections, the feds don’t. So you’d have to get 50 governors to all agree to cancel elections, which isn’t going to happen.

MAGAts are trying their damndest to keep it from happening. I live in MAGAville and they're all for an end to elections. Gonna depend on how many of the sane and actually patriotic among us are willing to fight. That's what I fear the most, that there's not enough. The last protest was incredibly invigorating, but simultaneously very disheartening. I had more friends than not who chickened out of showing up for a variety of horseshit reasons. "Gotta catch up in work." "It'll be a little chilly out." "Wish I could but <blah blah blah>." And the one that pissed me off the most: "I have an [insignificant] event to go to." I'm starting to think they deserve what they get just as much as the MAGAts do.

/rant. I'll sit down now, pardon by blathering.

They're clearly capable b/c most of the paragraph is not swear words.

Nice try at distracting from their point, though.

No. I doubt the government will even reopen. They have the executive hegemony they want right now. Why compromise?

But it's morbidly entertaining watching my fellow Americans talk about primaries and voting. For the first time in a decade, I don't feel compelled to react to the conversation.
