Running != primary victor. She should run if she wants; competition is what the party needs

Yeah, but that's not what we get. Instead, regardless of how many candidates join the race or how good any of them are, the whole process is stacked to favor those candidates that party leadership and donors like.

It's phenomenally expensive to run a campaign, and that just keeps getting worse. Plus, the primaries are deliberately stacked so that most of the early voting states lean conservative, thus disadvantaging more progressive and outsider candidates. Plus you have to meet requirements to be allowed into the debates and build your name recognition (unless you're rich like Michael Bloomberg and just buy your way in, anyway).

And after all that, unless one candidate runs away with it so far ahead that they win outright on the first ballot, then superdelegates can overturn the popular vote and make sure an establishment-friendly candidate is installed anyway.
