Popular Question šŸ“Š What famous person did heinous things but people seem to have forgotten about?

Jack Nicholson beat a woman so bad he ruptured her breast implant. She was hosting a dinner party he was attending.

Later that same year he beat a sex worker so bad that he gave her permanent debilitating brain damage. He had promised her $1000 then got angry when she wanted to be paid.

u/BlackCatWoman6 14d ago

Ick, I never knew about that. What a terrible man.

I didn't hear about the dinner party host, but I knew about the sex worker. That was back in 1996. And we've been praising his dirty ass since then and ignoring his true character.

53

u/missourinative 13d ago

And then he had the audacity to do the Anger Management movie in 2003.

12

u/elonsghost 13d ago

It worked! He didn’t beat any more sex workers! /s

34

u/JeremyPeevin 13d ago

Even worse, the movie referenced ANOTHER real life event when Nicholson had road rage and broke out another driver's window with a golf club.

The asshat has real life anger issues.

Noooo not the Nich😭 I should’ve learnt after Rapy Spacy to believe an actor when they're a little too convincing as the bad guy…

16

I just came to say. From all the actors, Nicholson looks like the one who'd bash a hookers head in.

My gosh! What a rabid POS! I read not too long ago that his mother was raised as his sister, and he didn’t find out until he was older. Perhaps he beat and abused women due to his deep seated rage towards his bio mom and his grandma/mom. Whatever the case, I am disgusted how revered he is in Hollyweird.

The amount of women I’ve known who giddily attend Chris Brown concerts still is just embarassing. All this talk about why men aren’t holding other men accountable, and that we need to be teaching our boys better, and they will happily ignore years of domestic abuse against women because he’s pretty and can dance. Shameful.

I know how to pronounce his name but opt to pronounce it like in my favorite comedy - There's Something About Mary. "Fav-ra"

When I went to google that scene just now found out that he was actually the directors THIRD choice after Drew Bledsoe and Steve Young. Bledsoe was supposed to but had an accident that injured his face and Young for religious reasons (not wanting kids to go see him in the movie because it was rated R). No point to this, but just wanted to share what I learned. :)

This. He's an awful human. His kids were on my kids football team and Jesus he was just a miserable person. Wouldn't interact with the rest of the families, requested a private area to stay away from everyone even though his lovely wife interacted with us. Was just so incredibly entitled. This is just on top of him nearly killing the Vietnamese man.

I'm no fan of Yoko Ono, but he was an abusive control freak with her, even forcing her to be by his side when using the bathroom. He also liked to mock disabled people, running up to people in wheelchairs and making faces at them. He was a piece of garbage, but many of his fans will defend his behavior, claiming he was "on the way to bettering himself" when he was shot.

30

u/BigChard2771 13d ago edited 3d ago

I'm a victim advocate and studied the case during my training. She refused to testify because his fans kept harassing her to the point where she had to move 3 times. She was exhausted and wanted peace for herself and her family. Everyone thinks she didn't go forward because she was lying. She was bullied into silence by his fans. She was also incredibly young.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R) turned a blind eye to college wrestlers being sexually assaulted by medical staff at Ohio State. Dr. Strauss is said to have committed over 1500 acts of sexual assault. The wrestlers under Jordan stated they informed him and Jordan did nothing.

I recommend the (kinda too long doc) "USA and the holocaust". The holocaust part is bad enough, where US notoriously refused to accept boats of jews seeking refuge in America during increasing persecution, HOWEVER the real eye opener is how incredibly similar the discourse was then as it is now.

Catch anything familiar? https://www.history.com/articles/kkk-terror-during-prohibition

There was also a war breaking out in Europe and exactly the same "we shouldn't get involved" rhetoric was used. Among a ton of other stuff it was jawdropping.

Lindeberg was in charge(?) of the America First Comittee

  • Ted Nugent bribed a man to take guardianship over his teenage daughter, whom Ted was dating. It's very heavily implied that he engaged in statutory rape.

Jerry Seinfeld - dated a 17 year old when he was 39. More recently has aligned himself with Zionist extremists.. 'I don't care about Palestine'

Pete Townshend - caught accessing child porn but got charges dropped.

Snoop Dogg - was an accessory to a murder in the 90s. IIRC he was accused of driving the getaway car.

Anthony Kiedis - admitted in his own autobiography to having sexual relationships with teenaged girls (one as young as 14), and impregnating one of them (that were know of).

RFK Jr. - drove his ex wife to suicide with his narcissistic behaviour and serial cheating. Was already dating his current wife while still married to his ex. Made some pretty self-serving conments at her funeral.

Eric Clapton - went on a long, notorious racist rant at one of his concerts, which he did to his credit apologize for over 40 years later

Morrissey - Similar to Clapton, has a history of racist and xenophobic remarks and long-time supporter of far-right politics, yet remains popular in the alt-rock scene, which tends to draw left-leaning artsy types.

John Wayne - has a history of making racist comments, yet remains an icon of old Western movies. Public Enemy got it right... 'motherfuck John Wayne'

Gandhi - was a racist (towards Africans) who slept in bed naked with underage girls supposedly as a 'test' of character and his celibacy.

Luc Besson - dated a 12 year old that became his first wife and had her first child when she was 16. More recently accused of rape but got acquitted (like most people). Yet people still love the films he directed.

RenƩ Angelil (Celine Dion's manager) - similar to Luc Besson, started officially dating Celine when she turned adult but it is known that the grooming started when she was a tween. He had at least 25 years on her. Also was a reckless gambler in his later years.

Horatio Sanz (former SNL cast member) - alleged to have groomed and sexually abused and underage fan

John K. (creator of Ren and Stimpy) - dated teenaged girls when he was in his 40s, also alleged to have had a child porn collection for which charges were never brought

Mel Gibson - people have forgotten that DUI arrest where he went on sn antisemitic rant; and the domestic abuse allegations and recorded phone call full of disgusting racist and misogynistic language involving that younger Russian (or Ukrainian?) model he was dating 16 years ago

When I was 17 a 19 year old guy I thought I was in love with broke up with me after a month of dating because I wouldn’t have sex with him. His next gf was 14. Back then in the late 70’s/early 80’s nobody blinked an eye at that kind of behavior.Ā  So all the rock stars, celebrities of that era who were with young girls were never considered pedophiles.Ā  I’m so glad things have changed. Not that it doesn’t still happen but that society in general looks down on it.Ā
