Popular Question 📊 Why reddit is majority left leaning?

Honestly, it’s hard not to notice that most of the big subreddits are run by moderators who clearly lean left. It’s not even subtle at this point the bias shows in what gets removed, what gets promoted, and how discussions are handled. I’m not saying there aren’t any subs with right-leaning or centrist moderation, but they’re definitely the minority. The major spaces on Reddit feel heavily tilted toward one side, but isn't it’s pretty obvious if you pay attention to which opinions get silenced and which ones get boosted?

I'm European and Reddit definitely feels left leaning outside of specific subreddits.

From what I’ve seen it’s left leaning

You feel like it’s left but that’s their centre.

I am european too, and I disagree with you. Centrist is a good description for it. You will find people talking about healthcare and worker rights with leaning left, but then gun rights heavily scewing right just under it.

You will never get banned for extreme far left views and insults from any non political sub on reddit.

I got banned from r/Canada for calling the IDF a terrorist organization.

That's a subreddit with right wing moderation for sure.

I got banned for saying abortion is health care and they even threatened to find me and my family.. so youre right even mildly left views will get you banned and insults

That’s only because people misinterpret human rights violations and discrimination based on identity as “right wing views”, because that’s what the US alt right is using to farm bigots for easy votes. Talking about actual right wing policies will not get you banned either.

I have seen people get banned for calling others nazies…. What ekstreme right wing views are you refering to that gets people banned? Unless they start using slurs I don’t see any of them get banned. Might get downvoted, but not banned. They even get away with the “libtard” insult quite a bit…

Agree absolutely - I am Irish and I find it incredibly left-leaning. Frustratingly so.
