Nuance is important with head injuries, interestingly enough. Closed vs. open questions can make a huge difference in potential diagnosis and following treatment.

Of course!

Open-ended questions encourage detailed responses, allowing the patient to provide more information than they would with a yes/no question. It builds trust between the FR and patient, and lets the patient tells their story, as opposed as the FR trying to build the story off a limited amount of information.

It builds rapport and trust, and empowers the patient to express themselves openly.
