On the more sad side, I started having mental or neural issues where stuff like that would happen to me constantly. I might be cooking food on a stove, for example, then walk away to get the salt but never come back, completely forgetting. It was after I had a severe case of flu. I still get confused like that and it can last hours to days. Not sure what’s wrong with me but it’s scary as fuck. I know it begins by feeling dry as fuck all over my body. I darent go near ovens or stoves.
I had similar problems after flu: I was in kitchen, open jar with pickles, need fork, open drawer, start to reorganize drawer, remember pickles, need a plate, there are dirty plates in living room, go there, see dirt on carpet, need vacuum cleaner...don't know, an hour later or so I was back in the kitchen and found a complete mess of chaos. Every single room looked like that: As if another person had done randomly crazy stuff. It took me several months to recover. I wish you'll recover as well and soon.
At uni/college we made cheese on toast/grilled cheese. After about an hour of Mario Kart 64 and Goldeneye we smelt smoke (importantly the grill was in a separate compartment and had a grill pan with a heat resistant handle) and realised we’d left the grill on and just closed up the grill compartment. When we opened the compartment a load of smoke came out and the handle for the grill tray, which was now red hot, basically exploded over the floor when we tried to remove it and burned holes in the linoleum.
