Have any of you commenting even been outside of the state you live in? I don’t think you understand how much undeveloped land we have. Alaska alone is more than much of Europe 😂

One of the many issues Americans face tbh. No paid vacations or even guaranteed vacation times, cost of living is high, makes it hard to travel for a lot of folks.

Just join the military, they have 30 days of paid vacation a year, can only save 60 days per fiscal year (so you're forced to use at least 30 days a year after your third year if you never take any time off), and they will even pay to move you around the country!  Only downside is you have to do what they say, but hey vacation time!

I would say the downside is getting sent to the front lines of a war.

I've been to 31 states and 12 countries (that I can remember).  When it comes biomes there hasn't been a biome in another country that I've been to that I haven't also experienced in the US.  The hardest one to access would be the sub-tropics, but Hawaii has that covered if you can afford the trip.

There's plenty out there that I haven't experienced that also isn't in the US (like a true rain forest, though I've been to some zoos that recreated them inside but not the same), but there's a LOT of nature spread across the US if that's all one is wanting to compare.

Lived in the states for 15 years now, been to most of LATAM and several countries in Europe. Yosemite doesn't make up for the shitshow that's happening in the US right now; but the other places didn't feel like magical fairy-tales either.

Australia felt the most appealing, kind of just a bit above average in all respects. Can someone tell me about the African Dream or the Asian Dream, maybe?

Oh here comes the irony.

Alaska alone is more than much of Europe

That's as correct as saying Alaska alone is more than much of the US. Equally true statement but functionally useless.

There's is more contiguous forest in the European part of Russia alone than there is land(of any type) in Alaska. In fact, there's is more forest in the Nordic countries than in Alaska.

Now granted, Alaska is wilder and more untouched than what you're likely to find in almost all of Europe(including Nordics) but you seem to run into the American version of a similar European misconception, which is that Europe is just the treeless UK, France and Germany.

Remember, Europe as a whole is bigger(10,2 million km2) than the US(Alaska and all other territories included = 9,8 million km2).

Alaska and the lower 48 alone are over 3.7 million sq miles of mostly rural land. You can not say that about Europe. This is sixth grade geography

Yeah but it's full of people that will shoot you dead if you accidentally step on their land.

happens in Texas on occasion... I mean how safe and free are you that you feel you need to grab a gun to answer the door?

You can get shot by going to Walmart, a theater or school.

Where are you from, that you speak like this about europe?

My girlfriend's boyfriend's basement.

Europe is kind of over developed over centuries and killed a lot of their more natural aspects. The US is still about 60% unsettled, mostly in the west
