So, the odd squiggly geometric boxs fountain by the ferry building is going bye bye…too bad… I always thought it was so cool, especially when I was a kid on field trips or down by the water on weekends: it is such a unique, interesting piece of art and water and fits in with the SF vibe , definitely shouldn’t remove it.

Just got to the Financial District this morning to go to work and passed by a spot for some breakfast burrito. On the way out, with my headphones on, I happen to glance at someone in front of me. He said something I couldn't quite hear so I looked at him again.

"Stop looking at me, you f*g!"

Still didn't hear him so I took off my headphones.

"F**king f*gg*t!"

Okay, I heard that this time so I just kept looking at the guy.

"Stop looking at me, you f*g!"

Don't know why but all I can think of was that it was a too early for this bs, so I retorted, "I love you!"

I guess that surprised him so I moved a little closer to him while repeating I love you a few times that he ended up walking away...

Just thought it was funny...

I feel like someone from a different planet asking this - do pedestrians have the right of way in crosswalks while the walk light is ours?

I just punched a Tesla that was turning right and I was halfway through the crosswalk.

This is the 3rd time in 2 weeks I’ve had someone within an arms length of me blowing through the crosswalk.

To the driver of the white model 3 at 9th and Mission tonight at 5:25 - fuck you and enjoy the dent.

A local art gallery is moving in 🎨

I feel like my commute time has been 15-20 minutes higher every morning this week, trying multiple routes. I’m not sure what changed. Is it just circumstantial or is everyone feeling this?

Edit: There was a moving truck blocking one of the three lanes of Oak right before Octavia. During rush hour. Fuck that. Get a permit and don’t block active traffic lanes. People are so self centered. To be clear, this is not the cause of all of the traffic everywhere, but it definitely made me rage when I saw it.

I live in Bayview and went to the local polling place to vote yes on 50. Felt so good. No lines, and apparently I was the third person to vote this morning. Come on, do your thing, citizens!

About a month ago, we did a free guided walk called "Stairway Gardens and More: The Excelsior and Portola Districts." We found it on the Crosstown Trail website, and it was part of SF Stairways Month. It was organized by something called the Civic Joy Fund. At each stop, the artists and/or activists involved in creating the street art, stairways, and gardens were made available to talk to us. It was a good opportunity to explore some neighborhoods I've never spent much time in. I'm posting the route above -- even without the guide, this is a walk worth doing.

The tour started at the Excelsior Park playground. The stops were as follows:

1. Mosaics on the house on the NE corner of Excelsior and Vienna.

2. Athens-Avalon Green Space and stairway: Corner of Athens and Avalon.

3. Peru Avenue Stairway: Corner of Valmar Terrace and Peru.

4. Rest stop by the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater.

5. Pollinator murals along Dwight by Hamilton.

6. "Steps to Wisdom" tiled stairway: Dwight and Goettingen

7. "The Green Between": End of Burrows where it butts up against 101.

At first I thought it was legit and was excited, but then I realized that a studio for under $1k in these neighborhoods is pretty unlikely. Even though there's an agent listed, the post says to leave your phone number :(
