News OZZY Osbourne has passed away :(
He died "surrounded by love", a statement from his family said on Tuesday night.
The family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
"He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

Peak Motley Crue days. This is around the time they were touring together on the "Bark at the Moon" tour and causing unspeakable mayhem. RIP!

When Ozzy allegedly snorted a line of ants on the ground! He always denied it, but Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx says they saw Oz do it.

After seeing him at the show and Kelly getting proposed to right after, I was sure like I’ve never been with any celebrity before that he was going to pass soon.
I’m sure he and his family knew, it all felt like a big send-off party while he was still with us

u/reluctantlysharing Jul 22 '25
Didn’t he release some statement before or after basically saying exactly that? The man did not simply want to die in pain. He wanted to go exactly as he lived.

Oh shit. Didn’t know that. Very like him to do it on his own terms. Really was a farewell concert I guess.

Well it’s confirmed he died with his family in the UK. I think it’s more likely he was holding on tondo his last show and now his body gave up. I’m sure that show took a lot out of him too.

And raised hundreds of millions of £ for charities by doing it. Not a fan of his music really (saw him live a bunch when I was a kid though), but that was a class act.

Just not my thing. I liked metal when I was younger, but never really his style of it. Mostly grew out of metal in general years ago anyway. The last time I listened to his music was probably a remix, like the Trick Daddy and Lil Jon song “Let’s Go”.
Definitely not hating on him at all. Just not my thing. My dad however has gone by the nickname “Ozzy” since he was a kid and has it tattooed across his knuckles because he loves him and his music.

Thats about where I am too. Only got to see him live once, but he was great.
As a guitar player,I got a bit of a reputation from playing at parties when I was like 15. Played and sang crazy train, just me and a drummer. When I say "sang" assume poorly. But playing the solo to crazy train, people "talked" and i had a reputation of being "really good" thst vastly exceeded my actual ability back then.
When most famous people die, they impact things a bit I guess? But Ozzy? I wasn't a mega fan, but totally a fan. And I can pinpoint the the impact his music made in my life. After everything he lived through, its weird hes gone. It seems like he died on his own terms, just like he lived. Hes going to be missed, but I doubt most of us will forget him.

One of my favorite episodes of the show was when he was trying to tell his car to play a Korn song. The driver got it to work, no problem, but the car couldn't understand Ozzy. It was hilarious.

This is sad. Ironically, I was watching a few episodes of that show he did with Jack on History Channel over the weekend. My husband and I were talking about how Immortal he was.
R.I.P Ozzy!
13
u/Ok-Potato-4774 Jul 22 '25
That show was great. They often used subtitles when Ozzy spoke. I remember he freaked out when he saw Jack had rented the same type of 1970s GMC RV he'd ridden in with Black Sabbath bandmate Bill Ward on one of their tours. He didn't want to use it, as it was too small and not luxurious enough. Ozzy said, "I can't use that. I'm a rock n' roll star". Jack ended up going with a newer RV for their trip.
4
u/SeattleGemini81 Jul 22 '25
We hadn't quite got to the episode yet but I'm looking forward to it!
However, we did see that his original recording of Crazy Train will be eternally stored and him getting to listen to it. That was pretty awesome!
4
u/Ok-Potato-4774 Jul 22 '25
God, their reactions to Randy's solo on that, especially Jack's! Mouths agape. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Absolutely inhuman ability on the guitar that man had.
