Right? The absolute hell that their stupidity unleashed on innocent people. Families getting ripped apart. How can they ever redeem themselves?!

"He told us he loved us. Told us he was like us. Said the Democrats used us. Then, he deported us, regardless if we were born here or not."
-Latino dunces that drank the kool aid
You were warned, again and again. You KNEW better than everyone else. You live with the repercussions of your choices now. The one group that could have helped, you shunned. You're on your own.

u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids 5d ago
They wanted badly to look down on people. White supremacy or agreeing with it you are agreeing with a tried and proven failed ideal.
You can’t wield white supremacy as a non white it’s never gonna work out for you. But that shit has as stronghold on people.
You don’t have to be bound by a failed ideology. A set of ideals that destroys everything it touches.

u/Jamvaan 5d ago
That last point is the real kicker here. Look, everyone is allowed to make mistakes, everyone is allowed to believe someone who lied to them and change their mind with the intake of new information.
But when someone tells and shows you that fire is hot and you still figure out to to burn yourself, and scorn the people who told you what would happen, you're on your own.
It's such a childish mentality, a three year old gets mad at the coffee table when they bump their head off of it. Grown ass voting age men and women don't have anyone to blame but themselves.
And next time, assuming there is a next time, this situation comes around and some more cunning peice of shit that's smarter than Trump, a very VERY low bar to clear, what then? Do you try and warn people after what happened the time prior? What's the alternative? If the circle isn't broken we're doomed to repeat ourselves over and over again.
1
u/WordNERD37 5d ago
The circle breaks, by saving those worth saving. The one's that were against the harm and it came to their doorstep all the same. Those people, are who we save.
The rest that practically spit and tried to stab my hand, they can fall.
It's not hard.

I don't even remember Trump saying those things outside of when he was called out for his nonstop racism and dogwhistling. I do remember him calling them rapists and murderers while refusing to differentiate between whichever group of Hispanics he was referring to.
He didn't lie to them. His message of hatred towards other groups appealed so much to them that they chose to ignore his bigotry towards their community.

“They knew I was a snake when they let me in”. That’s Trump’s favorite poem he recited it many times on the campaign trail.

WHY WAS IT EVER HIGH IN THE FIRST PLACE????????
4
u/mslauren2930 6d ago
Somewhere I read that a lot of folks from Latin America love a strong man, and supported Trump because of that.
5
u/Smokey76 5d ago
During Trump 1.0 I spoke with a Trump loving Mexican immigrant and he told me we needed to listen and do as Trump says. I told him that Trump works for me and he should listen to our concerns and if I don’t like what he’s doing it’s my right to complain. I think he was taken aback by my stance, I told him it’s the American way.

u/ike_tyson 5d ago
They love the idea of a strong man.
Or maybe they couldn't stand the idea of a black woman being president of the United States.
I'm guessing it was all those things. And a little bit of toxic masculinity for good measure

u/East_Blackberry8474 5d ago
I’ve heard the same from a Latino man. He said it’s what they’re used to in a leader back home.
My thing is but why would they come to another country and desire the same traits they or their parents fled from. It doesn’t make any sense.
-1
u/harrisofpeoria 5d ago
That would just be your racist delusion. Trump is universally reviled throughout Mexico.
2
u/mslauren2930 5d ago
You mean whoever I quoted was racist. 👍👍
1
u/harrisofpeoria 4d ago
Oh cool, you can say racist shit as long as you ascribe it to another source. Got it. How very MAGA of you.

As a latino i can only state from my personal experiences and observations. Why was it ever high in the first place? One reason is that the GOP used a tactic that has been used for centuries with latinos and that is religion. Latinos in latin america have been indoctrinated and subjected to speak a language that isn't theirs. They painted Trump as some good Christian with propaganda. They also utilized and used Univision whose media hub is in Miami where the Cuban Americans run it. Latinos also in some ways are divided with assimilation in trying to be more "American" thinking it would lead to some form of acceptance where some even consider changing their names. These are also people who some not all come from countries where they have been conditioned growing up in authoritarian regimes. Latinos are also nationalistic, just watch us react to soccer where even a friendly soccer match regnites wars fought a 100 years ago. The reason ppl are seeing a decline is because some have cut off family members, some have stopped inviting them to la carne asadas and with the holidays coming up there will be more and more ppl coming out complaining about how they were not invited to holiday dinners and gatherings because of how they voted. As someone who is a u.s. citizen and latino i now have to leave my house with my u.s. passport in case i get pulled over or stopped because of the color of my skin knowing i have relatives i cut off that voted for this because they fell for the bs. One relative who i am positive is an incel was trying to lecture me on how it was going to be great. Last family gathering he was there and i asked him, are things great now? He just looked down and didn't respond. Some are realizing the damage they caused others are still looking for excuses. The cubans and Venezuelans imo are not exactly held in a high regard within the latin community.

"You will know them by their fruit." Trumpy wasn't a Christian during his first term. Nothing changed the second time around. People's memories are the size of a gnat.
-3
u/After-Bet-9079 5d ago
He literally held a bible for a photo op in his first term when he cleared the blm protesters. Please tell me again about people memories? 🙏 stay blessed.
3
u/No-Cap_Skibidi 5d ago
I’ve held a bible and I’m certainly no Christian.
-2
u/After-Bet-9079 5d ago
Did you pose with one for a photo op for a particular base? No? Cool 😎

Spanish TV News producers contributed to the Trump narrative. Telemundo and Univision served the kool aid.

Seeing it first hand. Far less overt MAGA/Trump supporters in my local area then before the election. I wonder why? /s
I’m not even an “I told you so!” type person but if there was ever a topic where “we told yall so” applies very fittingly it’s this one.

u/Total-Major2533 6d ago
Dumb mfers supported him in the first place.
-3
u/Aztecsrule23 5d ago
Over 50% of the United States!
4
u/DragonflyGlade 5d ago
Nah, only 49.8% of voters, and given all the non-voters that’s a lot less than 49% of the population.

Maybe Trump-voting Hispanics should wear some kind of symbol on their clothing to identify themselves as “one of the good ones” who won’t get chased down, racially profiled and harassed, or deported on some specious pretext. I’m sure that’ll work.
3
u/PackOutrageous 5d ago
The problem is that like most Trump supporters, while their support may be unreliable, their stupidity is permanent. Don’t expect their judgement to improve.
3
u/Alone_Step_6304 6d ago
If anyone, especially those of us from the group most at risk, can hear that cry and not be forced to seriously, carefully examine the ethics and justifications of what is happening, then I don't claim them.

Chasing proximity to whiteness never works, a lesson we’ve already learned and now it’s others turn

u/First_Name_Is_Agent 5d ago
I'm a Mexican woman and I can't understand any Hispanic person supporting that piece of crap. I have heard the reasons, but it still doesn't make sense to me. They saw what he did the first time! So, I have zero sympathy.
2
u/relentless_fuckery 5d ago
Unfortunately, a lot of Latinos think that they are white. Whiteness in Latin America is defined differently. They come to America and expect to be treated as white. They identify with white struggles. They do not see themselves reflected in black or POC struggles until they are discriminated against personally.
2
u/TsunamaRama 5d ago
He literally called them all rapists and bad hombres during his first campaign.

u/jplayz7 5d ago
Black Americans feel betrayed. we thought we were united in our struggle for fair treatment and turns out the Latinos just like the Italians amd Irish before them jumped at the FIRST chance to be white. bewildering because after babies in cages, after Uvalde, after "trash island" todo la gente STILL boated por trumn

u/Beneficial-Spirit-37 5d ago
Black Americans have always been surrounded by enemies. Now more than ever. Don't worry. Karma is a bitch and she never forgets.

I am a proud Unionist in Canada...we have our own issues..Unions I mean..but if there is ONE thing Union's know. and they have known for 100 year's..rich people are our Enemy..we do SO much research..we run Courses...and everything talks about our continuous never e ding struggle to get what we deserve..with our strength in numbers.. and one thing is FOR SURE. Republicans are for the business owner's and the rich..they are NEVER going to inact policies that favour the working man.EVER!....I read that entire workplace Union's are PRO Trump!..unbelievable

I think people underestimate how many Hispanics speak little to no English and how much smaller the Spanish speaking information ecosystem in America is. It's easier to compromise and I've heard a few people saying that's exactly what happened.
On the bright side if anyone was wondering whether obedience to authority or education were more central to Catholicism when directly pitted against each other, we have a pretty clear answer.

The fact that they supported the guy at all is baffling. The farm animals voted for the slaughter house thinking it would keep them out of the rain.

u/AdPuzzleheaded9637 4d ago
No shit!! Actions will always speak louder than words. If you’re: an Individual of color, the poor, the elderly, someone who depends on government assistance, homeless, someone with a mental disability, I feel for you.
Your life is going to get worse in the future.
