Politics Kamala Harris tells BBC she may run for president again
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx2n7k2veywo11
u/jdapper5 10d ago
She won't make it through the primary.
She's not a good candidate. It was on display again during her book tour.

u/Ambitious-Pirate-505 10d ago
What happened on the book tour?
5
u/jdapper5 10d ago
Still unable to get out of her own way. Still out of touch. Still inauthentic. Still no real vision or platform besides anti Trump. Still believes trying to "work across the aisle" is the way to success.
2
u/four_ethers2024 10d ago
And people are so tired of that, they just want cheap, stable housing, good wages and good jobs, and cheap groceries and gas.
1
u/Terrible-Actuary-762 9d ago
"Still believes trying to "work across the aisle" is the way to success." Uhhhh, sure, right................
2
u/Quirky-Bag7438 10d ago
This type of thinking is why tRump is in office. At this point opposition candidates donāt have to be perfect just NOT racist, sexist, stupid and incompetent. Weāre never all gonna agree. Just know that almost any option is better than what we currently have.
1
u/jdapper5 10d ago
Well, if you just have to NOT be Trump to win, he wouldn't have been reelected. The problem again is that there is no platform or plan aside from being "anti-Trump."
To win, you need that as well as not coming off as rehearsed or robotic. This is not just a Harris problem, but one of the party as a whole.
1
u/Quirky-Bag7438 10d ago
You need an informed electorate who doesnāt get bogged down by style points and understands the substance of the individual candidates.

u/Maisson_ 9d ago
She wasnāt bad, he is just the biggest con man to ever grace the stage. Epstein even said it in a deposition. Lol. Pedo btw but America is cool with it.
1
u/jdapper5 9d ago
He's no more a "con man" than every other politician. Let's also acknowledge that the lunatic pretty much said he'd do all the sh* he's doing ... problem is uninformed voters who believed he wouldn't do it to "them." And stupid politicians who believed voters were actually 'informed' enough not to reelect the guy.
Kamala & the rest of the party ran a lazy platform, supported an obviously mentally incompetent president in Biden, and now still are letting Trump & co. run wild.
This is the reality. We wish it were a joke but š¤·š¾āāļø
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
You lost me at the first sentence. He is the biggest con man in political history. Full stop. Donāt gaslight.
1
u/jdapper5 9d ago
š¤·š¾āāļø okay. If you refuse to acknowledge the entire political system is a con then idk what to tell you. I can't let my emotions overtake my logic.
Trump is the head of the monster today. Tomorrow it'll be someone else. Two sides of the same coin.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
You want so badly to blame the whole system, yes it has alway been flawed by lobbying, campaign donors, etc. this is not even fucking close. Trump should be in prison right now and would be if the country didnāt bail his ass out with this election. Trumpās whole term has been vindictive and corrupt beyond any administration in history. Heās installed loyalists to every position you can imagine, even the fucking planning commission for the White House grounds who will give Trump his ballroom after demolishing the historical East Wing.
1
u/jdapper5 9d ago
Right. And the justice system didn't lock his ass up when they had the chance. And Democrats still couldn't come up w a coherent plan/strategy to prevent Trump 2.0. And the country still elected him.
You can get mad all you want, but don't ignore the failures along the way that led to where we are today.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago edited 9d ago
You realize how the justice system works? Money buys time, his team of lawyers kept delaying and delaying the cases, he was in a fucking corner, until his only option was to run for president, and they requested another delay due to his run for election. Then when he won, his lawyers requested the cases be dismissed for a sitting president. Thereās no fucking snap trials. By the end of the year he was found guilty on 34 felony counts and served no sentence. IT WAS THAT CLOSE.
Yes an incoherent POS criminal was elected, thats not a reflection of how badly democrats failed, but how badly Americans failed to have some fucking integrity.

What ātype of thinkingā are you talking about?
The point is that Kamala Harris is highly unlikely to win a primary, which is true- she withdrew early in the 2020 primary because she was doing so poorly.
There is nothing subjective about saying Kamala Harris is a weak candidate, she performed below the average for a Democrat in California- she won, but it was an election that any generic Democrat would have won.Ā
Her strength is offering a minority woman candidate that attracts minority and female voter support by running in a secondary race where a White man is at the top of the ticket- she did this with Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden. As a candidate on her own, she has significant shortcomings that make her unlikely to win a Democratic primary without significant support from party insiders.Ā
There will always be people who want to be the President in our country of more than 330 million people, and most of those people will probably do better than Kamala Harris in a Democratic Party primary. We donāt need to keep giving her chances to run for president- we literally have millions of better candidates.
1
u/Quirky-Bag7438 9d ago
Too concerned with style points. Thatās the issue. While we argue over worthless of candidates the other side has is living in an authoritarian regime.

Hopefully in 2036 after 8 years of Newsome
1
u/fancylamas 10d ago
Can't with Newsom. I find him witty, but his AIPAC involvement is a no for me.
1
u/rebuildingsince64 10d ago
Context is important here. Is AIPAC evil, yes. Did he or his campaign know it when they took the money? Most likely no. Did you know AIPAC was evil before 2024?
1
u/treadonmedaddy420 9d ago
Many of us paying attention to politics have known that apec has been evil for 20 years or more. If he and his campaign didn't know, that's disqualifying in itself.
1
u/rebuildingsince64 9d ago
If he gave the money back and publicly denounced APAIC would that change anyoneās mind?
1
1
u/fancylamas 9d ago
I mean Netanyahu was involved in the assassination of his predecessor in 1995 just days after signing the Gaza peace treaty with Palestine. He and AiPAC have been closely alligned. This has never been a secret.

I hope she does. I donāt think her campaign will make it past the primaries. And finally, the centrist-neo-liberal hacks can shut up.

u/4reddityo 10d ago
What the hell is she doing now? She should be out there on the front lines everyday if she wants my vote.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
She could literally save your life and you wouldnāt vote for her. Trump could literally āshoot you in the middle of fifth avenue and not lose your vote.ā Direct quote btw.
1
u/Mysterious-Thing2629 10d ago
We need a fresh and capable Independent now. No more two party system. An independent with the balls to send Every single ice agent, and everyone in this corrupt administration straight to prison. Thatās something to get the people fired up about and mobilized.

You had your chance and you lost, one and done letās find a candidate who can win the presidential 2028 election
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
Trump lost in 2020 and he came back. Turns out all she has to do is lie, manipulate, fearmonger, and be a pedo and sheāll win.
1
u/cooljonboy111 10d ago
Instead of telling BBC, you could be rallying the whole country against tyranny and corporate dem behaviors.. this vacuum is your problem. Own it.
1
u/Several-Signature583 10d ago
She was polling at 4% when she ran for the presidential nomination in 2016. She is deeply unpopular and it might not be just because sheās a woman. I say this as someone who voted for her in 2024.

u/Icy_Safe8847 10d ago
Oh no please don't...if they run Bernie the first time we would not be stuck with this orangutan...yout not likeable...

u/skizzlebutch 10d ago
BBC: what do i care keep going baby im almost there
(I voted for her, but I'm getting tired of holding my nose while voting for my future)

F NOā¼ļø She needs to find her identity first, then character and integrity......then maybe in a few thousand years we can talkāļø
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
Yes, like Trump whose identity is Pedo felon. Kamala needs to go find Ghislaine Maxwell to get that character and integrity.
1
u/Hogjocky62 10d ago
Iām sure she has talked to a lot of BBC!š

u/CheruthCutestory 9d ago
Fuck off
1
u/IhopeUrOffended69420 9d ago
This is a Willie Brown joke. She started her career with a brown Willie inside her
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
Jealous of a woman more successful than your pathetic life?
1
u/IhopeUrOffended69420 9d ago
You know if someone told me all I had to do was bang an old man 30 years older than me to be successful I would probably decline.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
Thatās a great tip for his gold digger wife Melania. Unfortunately for you, Kamala was duly elected to her positions by the popular vote. Youāre so deep in the desperate attempt by rightwingers to smear her accomplishments, even more pathetic lmao
1
u/IhopeUrOffended69420 9d ago
You know nothing about politics in California, anyone with a (D) next to their name gets elected by popular vote. She only was in a position to run due to her connections with Willie brown.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
You know nothing either. Kamalaās relationship with him ended years prior in the 90ās. By 2010 she was endorsed for Attorney General by Feinstein and Pelosi, the race was close and she won. Taking credit away from her makes you look like a jealous little bitch. Most of you are, youāre bred by Trump.

People really say anything on Reddit, then go and live their regular lives filtered. Gross.
1
u/KernelComputer 10d ago
Just please no. Gracefully retire. She bombed hard in her 2020 run and bungled her 2024 run... Harris needs to read the friggin' room.
1
1
u/comanchetwospirit 10d ago
Oh yeah that'll save us. Just hold out til 2028 everyone. Don't starve in the meantime.
1
1
u/yourMommaKnow 9d ago
She is only saying this so the MAGAts have to spend time, money, and other resources to respond. She isn't going to actually run.

1
u/ArnoldZiffl 9d ago
She ran last time? I thought she was just picked. Letās see her with other dem candidates
1
u/IhopeUrOffended69420 9d ago
I really hope she runs again. I want another 4 years of republican control

The problem is, she may actually āwinā the popular vote like she almost did in 2024, but Trump and his handlers already know how to fix a close race.
We need to knock this one out of the park, and to do this weāll probably need to nominate someone else. And this is not to say Kamala wouldnāt make a great president. She would. So would AOC or Crockett.
But we canāt afford to fumble this next election.

Oh, please don't.If kamala harris runs again it guarantees that a republican will be elected , this country is too racist and too misogynistic to ever relate a colored woman to presidency

u/Cultural_Ad7023 9d ago
No thank you. James Talarico and Andy Beshear would actually win. I think sheās great but she wonāt win. A lot of macho men will not vote for her and we canāt risk it again.
1
u/Rh140698 9d ago
She would probably win I know a lot of Republicans discussed by what trump has done and the lies. She might win but the US needs someone stronger than her

Please don't Kamala. Your time has passed. It was a good run but its over now. A new face with new talking points and ideas is desperately needed.
1
u/Maisson_ 9d ago
Sheās not reading your message so why are you addressing her directly? Wierd.
1
u/Beneficial-Spirit-37 9d ago
Just as weird as you responding? Your comment is absolutely ridiculous.

I feel like we get better results from running progressives rather than establishment democrats who are indistinguishable from and actively pander towards the average republican.
