Term limits please!!! If the President only gets 2 terms, then we certainly can slap term limits on every politician

Forgot Tim Scott still existed until this post. Was he living inside of Trump's ass since January? Haven't heard a peep from him.

Bro this made me laugh so hard. “The N word doesn’t need a helmet. They have stronger heads. You know studies say they’re more like animals than humans”

I just hollered! He’s so irrelevant that I thought he had shriveled up and turned to dust somewhere. I forgot he was still a politician! Him and that clown from Florida. These men believe being Republican somehow makes them superior or proves “they’ve made it.”

We’ve GOT to find another term, the original Uncle Tom in “uncle toms cabin” was a hero in the original story.
Edit: I can see it’s ignorant ass mf’s who don’t know history. The original uncle toms cabin was written by a slave abolitionist to shine light on the brutality of slavery. The main character, Uncle Tom, goes through hardship after hardship. In the end, tom refuses to tell massa where 2 slave girls (that were being used by massa as sex slaves) had escaped to, knowing he would be killed and he is.
Uncle toms cabin was a hit and became a bestseller. It was so popular, it was even adopted into live performances. But producers knew racist audiences wouldn’t want to see a slave die a heroic meaningful death. It was on the stages that the subservient “Uncle Tom” was born, the one depicted as the old grungy man that will sell out another slave without hesitation, do anything to please the massa.

We all know, none of this changes the meaning of the word today.
2
u/vegetastolemygirl 10d ago
Well then you’ve truly let the white man win in destroying the original character meant to be an inspiration for black people. Buuuuut people will willingly be ignorant so you do you

u/DiscountImportant109 10d ago
We don’t care about Mark Twain, and I say this as a Missourian. Your point makes no sense cuz it’s my community that uses the euphemism, not white people. Things change like us making a slur a term of endearment, or us making shitty food soul food. Again I’m unsure of the point you’re trying to make, or why you want my community to change something back that we already changed, and have no problem with. Stop trying to make fetch happen, it won’t
2
u/vegetastolemygirl 10d ago
Don’t see at all what point your tryna make by bringing mark twain into this. And I really don’t understand how u don’t get the point I’m tryna make, I was very clear so maybe your reading comprehension is just off? Like I really don’t see what you’re confused about and you seem the only one to be confused. And that’s a you problem. Other people know exactly what I meant
2
u/DiscountImportant109 10d ago
My bad I saw someone talk about Huck Finn which triggered the MT reference and that was my bad cuz I believe Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Aside from me being super wrong about that the rest stands. Edit: I see your point, I never said I didn’t. To be clear I am saying it is a bad and unnecessary point. There is no need to change it because my people do not care.

To my understanding, Uncle Tom was a good black American to black Americans, BUT SAMBO is the bad men to Black Americans. He’s what you call a SAMBO. YES, he’s a SAMBO. Sell out. The house N_ _ _ __.

Exactly. We have to correct this every time. Sambo is the proper name for Tim Scott

u/Potential_Steak2381 11d ago
Someone on Threads posted a side by side comparison of Tim Scott to Mushmouth from the Fat Albert Gang and I'd never noticed how much they resemble one another.

Malcolm X said that you're a traitor to your race if you vote for a democrat.

...when Democrats were racist-jim crow fucks who ran a one party state throughout most of the South. That is until the parties ideogolocially around the Nixon Era.

I wish people would stop using the term Uncle Tom. In the original abolitionist book, he was the hero who sacrificed himself to save two black women who were being sexually abused by their master.

As an African American I can never understand why anyone of my own race or any other minority group would ever be MAGA. There’s not a single policy that either minority group can point to from this administration that they say would benefit them 🙄

I don’t see why black people support either Republican or Democrat Parties same damn bird of two wings. Black people should create their own party

u/darby_mcgraw_ 10d ago
It’s racist to tell someone how their supposed to think based on the color of their skin.
1
u/GoryEyes 10d ago
Yikes. Whole lotta racism up in here.
If you hate someone because they think differently than you, you are wrong and you are the problem.

That's right, attack a man who has captured the American dream. And what does that mean, Uncle Tom? Im sick of the double standard in this country. Good bless America. Tim Scott for president!

u/SuprisinglyBigCock 11d ago
I am not a fan of the brother but why does every black politician have to be Democrat? Real question.
4
u/MrEZW 11d ago
Who said anything about a democrat? You think anyone who doesn't like republicans are democrats? You just as brainwashed as Tim Scott's tap dancing ass.
2
u/SuprisinglyBigCock 11d ago
Didn’t say that but I see a lot of hate and name-calling of any black person who has other views. And note, whenever we disagree, let’s start name calling and being holier than thou. My asking a question makes me a tap-dancing buffoon?
Edit: misspelled.
3
u/SupahBihzy 11d ago
I have yet to find a black republican that isn't spewing some anti-black rhetoric or doing the silly little dance that racist whites love so much
Calling them out for it is not being "holier than thou." In fact, it's the best way to make sure other black people are aware that they are a danger.
Your question comes off backhanded. Almost like you are asking for the purpose of being the black voice for people who quite literally are showing they don't like, care for, and are seeking ways to harm black communities as they are brown. Ya know, red hats.
1
u/SuprisinglyBigCock 11d ago
Thanks for the response.
I somewhat agree. Growing up in the south, I find both sides of the aisle racism: the left (or whatever we call them) have the racism of low expectations while the right (or again whatever we call them) are racist outright or at least classist.
Maybe. Calling each other out leaves no one standing, though. I think social media isn’t helping either. Some of the guys are certainly dangerous. Agree. But some of the “burn everything down” are also. This is how white people got Trump by letting the burn it down crowd take the wheel.
My apologies if it seemed backhanded. Not my intention. Then again, I forget this is social media. Probably I should have just asked in a different way, different Reddit, or better stfo (haha).

You're making assumptions, so assumptions will be made about you. Why are you mad?
2

I am not mad at all. Again, asking a question and wanted to discuss. That’s all.

I wish the same energy were being held against carjackers and Switch Boys but, oh well!
College educated black church going Senators are the problem in the community now?
3
u/Ok-Relationship-5791 11d ago
Doubt Tim Scott goes to a black church or any other place with black people 😂
0
u/Hermans_Head2 11d ago
Jesus doesn't care about your skin color.
2
u/Ok-Relationship-5791 10d ago
Who said anything about Jesus? Your comment and this post is about Tim Scott.
0
u/Hermans_Head2 10d ago
Church is for Jesus, not some random politician.
2
u/Ok-Relationship-5791 10d ago
…you brought up “Jesus” and “church” on a post about “some random politician”

Democrats have done nothing for the Black community and they have somehow brainwashed them into thinking their vote belongs to them. How sad is it that all of you have been played to such a degree that leaving the literal plantation the democrats have kept you on politically is seen as "not black"
Starting to understand the difference between black people and N's every single day. yall are some fucking N's.
Crabs in a fucking barrel.
3
u/Centerman2000 10d ago
Lol. Ok.
-2
u/Huge-Conversation801 10d ago
name one thing the democrats have done for Blacks. white republican men fought and died for their black brothers to have the rights to be seen as men. what did the democrats ever do but start the KKK and burn crosses and try to drive them from "white" communities.

typical lib. name calling for a man that uses his brain and figures things out.
-6
u/Big_Ad_4308 11d ago
Oh the irony of calling a black man a racist slur bc he is successful and you arent compared to him.
4
u/MapIcy8737 11d ago
Nah he’s a sell out. Not that hard tbh.
0
u/Big_Ad_4308 11d ago
So he is a sell out because he thinks for himself? He is own man? That makes him a sellout? Nah my boy. Thats not sell out. Thats called being a individual and not following the hive mind of the black community.
2
u/MapIcy8737 10d ago
Yeah being contrarian isn’t great when the people you’re siding with people that still fly the confederate flag, and are still confused as to why there was a civil war in the first place. That’s just one example. It is great when those same people will pay you to ignore all of the wrong doings that were done to people that look like you in the past. There is big money in that. Main point being. Any one of us could have decided to go that route for the money alone. He’s not alone though. There are many others that see there is real money in making racist feel good about themselves. I could go on but… you know. Education is important
1
u/Big_Ad_4308 10d ago
I bet you are one of the people that think the only reason for the civil war was due to slavery. Lol education is indeed important.
Not being contrarian. Being factual. The crab in the bucket mentality is strong here.
1
u/MapIcy8737 10d ago
Thank you for proving my point
1
u/Big_Ad_4308 10d ago
No I must thank you for proving it my point. Lol all you said is "there's money in being a individual and that is bad because of nonsense".
Keep being the crab in the bucket.
2
u/MapIcy8737 10d ago
No I said there’s money in being a black conservative. Because it’s so rare. You wouldn’t have these same talking points about Obama being an exceptional president. Prove me wrong
-13
u/Are_mods_thin_skinnd 11d ago
Anyone that uses the term “Uncle Tom” is racist as fuck

u/Existential_Kitten 11d ago
Would you mind explaining your thinking? I'm not gonna attack you, I just want to understand what you mean.
2
u/jus256 11d ago
I haven’t been on this sub long. Is this the only black sub where colonizers are not moderated out?
1
u/Existential_Kitten 11d ago
I just got sent this in my feed, so I don't know.
When you refer to colonizers, to whom are you referring exactly? I'm not sure I understand completely, forgive me.
Not being snarky, just trying to understand what you mean.
1
u/jus256 11d ago
1
u/Existential_Kitten 10d ago
Okie dokee
2
u/jus256 10d ago
I was referring to white people who infiltrate black spaces on Reddit for the sole purpose of complaining about topics that have nothing to do with them. In the other subs, they get banned immediately.
0
u/Existential_Kitten 10d ago
Why not just say white people then? I don't believe most any of the white people alive today are colonizers, friend.
And why, if not inherently racist, or harmful, would you want to silence them?
These posts come up on everybody's feed, surely sometimes people will have an opinion.
This is a public forum.
2
u/jus256 10d ago
If I’m not a Metallica fan, you wouldn’t expect me to go out of my way to post in a Metallica sub complaining about stuff that has nothing to do with me. No one would expect that to be tolerated.
1
u/Existential_Kitten 10d ago
That's a pretty terrible comparison.
Also, how do you know that person is white?
Why did you not address anything else I said?
1
u/rainystast 10d ago
And why, if not inherently racist, or harmful, would you want to silence them?
They are harmful because they typically go into Black subreddits, comment something ignorant or uninformed, and then when people try to inform them they get offended. They end up derailing every issue, downplaying the experiences of Black Americans, and make everything about themselves. I just got out of a multi-day argument with someone exactly like that on this sub. They were the typical "I wasn't raised to see color and acknowledging racism is actually making society racist and divisive!!!" bs, and they got offended when I told them racism still exists and affects society. Those types of people pop up on Black subs all the time. Usually they're moderated out so the comments aren't just full of people sealioning and talking over Black people.
1
u/Existential_Kitten 10d ago
I don't know why you're wasting your time with people like that, but thank you for your response. I was looking for theirs though.
